A Birthday Fit for a Princess!

My baby girl turned 3 years old today!  Sophie came into this world a little over a month earlier than “planned”!  I will never forget that day.  I had not been feeling well that week.  We were off school that week and Mom and I had planned on going to the Canton Flea Market after my regular scheduled Dr. appt.  Little did we know that I would be having a sweet baby instead.  Syd and Sarah Beth rushed to Jackson to be with me.  Sophie was born about 1:30 weighing in at 6 lbs 2 oz.  She stayed in the NICU for 2 nights.  She is a strong little girl!  Sophie is so sweet and caring.  She is quiet and shy.  She is our little “hurricane” b/c she can make a mess in 2 seconds flat!  We love you Sophie!!

We have had a blast celebrating Sophie’s birthday this weekend.  We had her party on Saturday morning at Fit Zone.  It was so much fun.  They had organized activities and I did not have to do anything but enjoy watching Sophie!

After her party we went to lunch at El Sombrero but she didn’t want to wear the BIG hat and have them sing to her.

Today we took the kids to the fair as part of Sophie’s birthday celebration.  They had a blast looking at the livestock and riding rides.  We ate chicken on a stick and enjoyed a LARGE elephant ear!

Weekend Wrap Up

I have been enjoying this beautiful fall weather so much!  We took full advantage of it this past weekend.  Sarah Beth had soccer Saturday morning, then we headed downtown for the Fall Festival/Flea Market.  After that we decided to do a little birthday shopping for Sophie at the Outlet Mall.

What a Week!

week of sept 19 001

We started off the week with SB having dental surgery on Monday.  Poor thing had to have a tooth extracted and several crowns.  She had to be at Woman’s Hospital bright and early at 7 a.m.  We love that hospital…that is where all 3 of my babies were born.  They take such great care of us!  SB was such a good patient.  She felt so bad in the picture above but she really wanted her picture made in the wheel chair! After the drive home from Jackson she was back to her  normal self.  Kids bounce back so quick!

The middle of the week was busy with work, dance and St. Al Homecoming.  I forgot to take my camera to the parade and pep rally…oops!

I ended the week today with 2 sick babies. Sophie woke up early with a stomach bug which woke up the entire house.  Andrew also had a low grade temp.  So I kept them home with me.

I took Andrew to the Dr. for his 9 month check-up (I also wanted to make sure he didn’t have an ear infection and he did not!)  He weighs 19 lbs 12 oz.  and is 27 1/4 in. long.  He is finally sitting up great by himself and has started to “scoot” everywhere.  I can barely keep him on his pallet anymore.  This makes me sad…my baby is growing up way too fast!! He eats anything we put in his mouth including OATMEAL cookies!  He got to taste one of those the when SB was having her surgery.

Well…that is all for now.  I hope everyone else in the house stays free of the stomach bug so we can enjoy this beautiful weather this weekend!

SB was waiting to go back to surgery while Andrew napped.

This picture was not taken today but this is what these 2 did most of today…got snuggles from Momma!

Hat Day

Sarah Beth studied the letter Hh in Kindergarten last week and they had “hat day” on Friday.  They were to make or create a hat to wear.  We had so much fun working on this project together.  Originally she wanted a hat with feathers but I sent my assistant out in Jackson looking and she came back with these cute flowers instead.  SB wanted her hat to be purple and gold (St. Al colors).  I thought the hat turned out very cute!!

Weekend Wrap Up

We have had a great weekend.  We have spent the entire weekend with family and we have enjoyed every minute of it!  Friday night we went to El Sombrero with Nana, Papaw, Kori and Brandon.  Afterwards, everyone came back to our house and the kids played and played!

Saturday the girls took a trip to Jackson.  Our first stop was lunch at Jason’s Deli.  It was delicious.  Then we went to Sam’s and one of my favorite stores…School Aids!  We headed back to Vicksburg and went to the Wooten’s house to celebrate Aunt Bettye’s birthday.  Sarah Beth and Mary Makenna had a blast looking for toads and frogs!  We enjoyed spending time with the Kelly family!

Today we went to Mass and enjoyed lunch at MeMe and Pops house.  After lunch I mentioned that we should have a family game day (what else to do on a rainy day!).  Syd and I taught everyone how to play Phase 10.  We had a great time!
