Surprise!!!

We had Dinnie (my mother in law) a surprise 60th Birthday Party the Sunday before Labor Day.  It was so much fun and I think she really was surprised!  Thanks to all of her friends and family who came to help make this birthday so special for MeMe.  I took so many great pictures (with my new camera) that I have to pick and choose a few to put on here!

Syd was such a trooper to swim with all of the kids!

Our attempt to get a pic of Dinnie with the kids…Banks refused to be in the picture.  It was getting to be bedtimes!

Dinnie’s good friend Carol so graciously offered her home for the party and also made this delicious chocolate cake! 

Weekend Wrap Up

Our weekend began on Wednesday when they cancelled school due to Hurricane Isaac.  We were out 3 days due to all of the wind, rain and trees down all over town.  We were very lucky that we did not lose power at our house.  I got a lot of purging done on Thursday and it felt good to get rid of stuff we don’t use anymore. 

On Saturday morning SB took off to Starkville with MeMe and Uncle Jason to watch the MSU Bulldogs play.  It sure was hard for me to buy her a maroon t-shirt but she wanted to wear the right attire!

Uncle Jason kept us posted all day and she wanted to send us a picture of her at the stadium…she had a great time but USM is still her #1 team!

While SB was off in Bulldog country we went to Jennifer Lynne and Stephen’s house for burgers and football.  All of the cousins had a great time playing!

Andrew and Banks had so much fun together.  They ran around the house shutting doors!

Sophie loves to hold Lynlee.  She is such a good big cousin and Lynlee loved all of the attention…she even rolled over for the 1st time for us!

We tried so hard to get a good picture of the boys but they are always on the move…best I could get!

Andrew giving sugars/hugs to sweet Lynlee.  He loves to visit with her at school and he has learned to say her name…so sweet!

We had a great weekend but it is not over….we all have the day off tomorrow!  I hope to get to play with our new toy….

I am super excited…I have wanted one of these cameras for a while now!

Happy Birthday MeMe!

MeMe celebrated her 60th birthday today!!  WooHoo!!  Actually she celebrated all weekend. SB and I took her to lunch at one of her favorite restaurants in town, Rusty’s.  On Sunday Barbara had a joint birthday celebration for Dinnie & Mike.

Tonight we had MeMe over for dinner.  Syd bought some mini-eclairs and we sang Happy Birthday! 

Her best present of all…Jason had to evacuate from NOLA and he made it just in time for dinner!

MeMe ~ we hope you had a fabulous birthday and we wish you many many more!  We love you!

A little of this and that…

We have been busy but I haven’t had much time to post on this blog!  Here is a little of what has been happening in the Johnston household.

Scott left for college!

Sarah Beth danced before the St. Al game on Friday night!

Andrew thought his Sissy was awesome on the football field!

Sophie enjoyed watching SB too!

On Saturday SB wanted to visit the new “boat museum” in town. So MeMe and I took her.  It was really cool!

Well…that is about it.  We have been busy with dance, violin and gymnastics.  SB starts art class this week too.  Whew…I am tired just thinking about it…oh yea work/school too! 

Gymnastics

This sweet little girl was so excited to start gymnastics!!  She walked right in and was not shy at all…which is great for my Sophie!  She said she put her hands in the air and did flips!  She loved it! 

 

Please excuse her chocolate ice cream stains!  She had a little right before her class…spoiled rotten by her MeMe!

1st Day of 1st Grade

Sarah Beth started 1st Grade today!  Where has the time gone??!!  She was really excited but a little nervous.  She had a GREAT day today she said.  She loves her teacher, Mrs. Park!

She is a big girl in a big girl desk this year!!  I know it will be a wonderful year!
