Summer in Pictures

I have not blogged much this summer but boy have we been busy!  Here is a summary of what has been going on…

*spent lots of time swimming at Carol Robby’s house

*attended a wedding with my little man

*spent lots of time with our Uncles who were home from college

*cousin fun

*spent lots of time snuggling sweet Jase

*spent a day playing with Shelby and Hayden

*celebrated 10 years of marriage

*bubble painting with friends

*the girls attended many fun and exciting camps this summer

-Princess Camp

 -Can’t Stop Singing

-SB spent 3 nights at Warner Tully Camp…her first overnight camp.  She had an absolute blast!

*art camp at Southern Cultural Center

-Both girls attended VPAC’s dance camp as well but I didn’t get any pictures.

*had a cookout with the Johnston’s

*we met baby Reid for the first time (photo taken from  Tori’s blog )

*attended the Miss Ms Pageant

*having lots of fun and being silly

*went to our 1st Ms Braves game

*we also did a little shopping and had fun girl time

Now it is time to get back into “Back to School” mode.  I have one week left…boo!  We have had a great summer making wonderful memories…I am sure we will make a few more before it is completely over!

Meeting Jase!

My nephew Jase Bradley Babb was born June 5th at 7:22 a.m.  He was 7lbs 11oz.  He is a precious baby and we are all in love with him!  Here are a few pictures of Jase from his first few hours of life!

Junior Auxiliary

I am so honored to have been a part of  the Junior Auxiliary of Vicksburg for a little over 5 years.  I met many amazing women and tons of special children that otherwise I would not have met.  JAV is dedicated to the children in our community.  We serve a countless number of children and families each year. 

Here is a picture of my Provisional Class when we started back in 2007.

I served on 3 projects throughout my 5 years.  I served on Safety Town for 2 years and Camp Silvercloud for 3.  I also served as Chair of a Chapter Project called INK (inspirational notes for kids). 

I helped build Catfish Row Playground, served on our major fundraiser Annual Birdie, Bogey and Boogie for Kids and worked many hours in the Cookbook Office.

My mother in law is a Life Member and we attended many Fall/Spring parties together!

I also served on the Board for one year as the Corresponding Secretary.  I thoroughly enjoyed my active years with JAV.  I will continue to help with this wonderful organization as a Life Member!

 

Dance Recital…2013

Vicksburg Dance Studio presented “Wicked: The Story of the Witches of Oz” this year.  Sarah Beth did an awesome job in all 3 of her dances.  She is becoming a beautiful ballerina!  We are so proud of her!

Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day weekend started off a little rough for me.  I came home from work Friday afternoon with a stomach bug.  I was in the bed all day on Saturday and even missed church on Sunday morning.  I was feeling better so we went to Dinnie’s house for lunch!  It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed spending it with my children and our Mom’s!  I even snuck in a pedicure late afternoon!

Syd Johnston Memorial Concert

The  Vicksburg Orchestral Society presented the 1st Annual Syd Johnston Memorial Concert a couple of weeks ago.  It was an amazing concert that brought everyone to tears!  Big Syd loved the orchestra and enjoyed playing the Cello.  They played a few of Big Syd’s favorite selections and Mrs. Tammy used his Cello for the performance.  They even brought a bagpiper from Jackson….absolutely wonderful!

St Paul’s Choir sang Ave Maria…beautiful!

Bennett Randman from the Ms Symphony Orchestra performed several pieces…he is awesome!

We will look forward to next year’s performance but it sure will be hard to top this year! 

Spring Break 2013

I am way behind on blogging.  We went to Orange Beach during Spring Break because Syd had a work conference.  I am so glad it worked out where the kids and I could go.  We had a great time.  We also celebrated SB’s birthday while we were there.  While Syd was working I took the kids to the outlet mall, zoo and the beach.
