Magic Kingdom

We spent our first full day at Disney at Magic Kingdom.  We arrived around 7:45 a.m. and we didn’t leave until around 9:30…whew what a long day.  It was so magical especially at night.  All of the Christmas decorations were radiant and the castle was gorgeous at night!  The kids had a great time and took in all of the sights.  We rode lots of rides including It’s a Small World, Peter Pan’s Flight, Dumbo, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Haunted Mansion.  We saw a few fun shows and had brunch with Pooh and friends.

but he did NOT like the characters! He stayed glued to the table and kept his eye out for any that came our way.  He wouldn’t let us pick him up for a while…poor baby was terrified!

The day was a success!!  We went back to the resort, cooked a pizza and went to bed!

Disney Bound!

The kids were so excited to go to Disney World.  We kept this trip a secret for months.  It was so hard but SB’s face was priceless on Christmas morning when she found out! 

We arrived at the airport only to learn that our flight had been delayed by an hour or so…

Once we finally got on the airplane…somebody fell straight to sleep!

 

The girls were too excited to take a nap.  They enjoyed the short plane trip to Orlando!

We took about a 30 minute ride from the airport to our resort on the Disney Magical Express.  We checked into our Villa and then went downstairs and ate at the hotel restaurant.  We turned in early for the night and got up bright and early the next morning for a little Magic Kingdom fun!

Christmas Day

We woke up Christmas morning and Santa had left lots of goodies!  Cooper couldn’t wait to see what was in his stocking!

SB was excited to get an alarm clock so she can wake up on her own in the mornings.  She also got lots of “teacher stuff”, a new big girl bike and an American girl doll.

Sophie is at such a fun age this year.  She was excited that Santa left her a new bike, teacher stuff, puzzles and an American girl Bitty Baby. 

Andrew must have been really good this year because Santa left him lots of goodies!  He got a large train table, trucks, and a basketball goal.  He had a fun morning!

Sophie loves her new baby.  She is taking very good care of her.  Nana gave her a bed and high chair to go with her baby.

MeMe, Jason and Scott came over for a BIG surprise! The tag said, “This is a clue for our trip…guess where!”

She barely pulled the shirt out of the bag and she said “Disney World!!”

When we said “yes we are going to Disney tomorrow and we are flying”…she screamed!!  Sophie was excited…it just took her a minute to catch on!

Andrew wanted Scott to help him open all of his presents and he helped Scott open his. 

For lunch we went to Nana and Papaw’s house.  We enjoyed yummy steaks that Papaw grilled for us in the rain.  After we ate we opened lots of gifts.  All of the kids got one of these cool chairs.

We had a really exciting Christmas.  We didn’t visit any family Christmas night because we had some packing to do!  Since the trip was a surprise for the kids…I didn’t do anything ahead of time! 

Christmas Eve

We attended the early Christmas Mass on Christmas Eve because the children participate.  Sophie was chosen to carry baby Jesus down the aisle.  She did a fantastic job (she made her Daddy go with her ).  After she carried Jesus down the aisle she laid him in his manger.  It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen.  Sarah Beth said, “Mama, I had tears in my eyes when I saw Sophie carrying baby Jesus”.  Oh how sweet!  Sarah Beth took part in the prayers.  She did an excellent job reading in the microphone! 

After Mass we went to Uncle Tim and Aunt Leslie’s house for Christmas with the Rodgers’.  We had a delicious meal, played Dirty Santa and of course sang and danced while Reed played his guitar!

We came home, put out our Reindeer food and cookies for Santa and got all tucked in bed!  We had 2 very excited little girls!  SB also had the tooth fairy come to visit…she had lost a tooth the night before at Nana and Papaw’s house…exciting night!
