Christmas Eve

We always go to the early Christmas Eve Mass that is geared for the children.  Sarah Beth read a petition and Sophie carried the gifts down this year.  They were so sweet!  After Mass we went to my parents house for the Rodgers’ family Christmas.  We ate good and played Dirty Santa.  It was lots of fun seeing our family!

Reed usually entertains us with his guitar but  he had to leave for work.  So SB played a few tunes on her violin for us!

When we got home the kids put out the reindeer food and cookies for Santa and then they went fast to sleep!

Gingerbread Cookies

I am still playing catch up on the blog.  I have not posted about Christmas yet…ahhh!!

I always bake a Gingerbread Boy and Girl with my Kindergarten students and I thought it would be fun to let my own children do this.  It was so fun and the kids had a blast making and decorating their very own Gingerbread person.

Ahoy Matey! Andrew turns 3!

My baby boy turned 3 on December 20th.  I can not believe that he is already 3.  It seems like it was just yesterday that I was on bedrest with that little stinker!  This little boy knows he has my heart and he has me wrapped around his little finger.  Some cute things he says at 3 are:

-He calls his shorts, “up up ups” and his pants “down down downs” (too funny….we have no idea where this came from).

-He tells me “I need ya”.

-He always says his blessing before a meal…God is Great!

- When he wants me to pick him up he says “I want to hold you”!

On his actual birthday Syd and I needed to finish up some Christmas shopping so we took Andrew to Jackson with us.  We had Shipley donuts for breakfast…Andrew took the box on the road…

We had Sal and Mookies for lunch.  The waitress just happened to ask how old he was and we said well actually today is his birthday so she brought him a yummy birthday brownie.  He made friends with a couple sitting right next to us so we all sang Happy Birthday to him.  He loved all of the attention!

On Saturday night we had his birthday party with just family.  Syd decided he needed a pirate themed party!  He had fun planning it and making the adorable cupcakes!

Each cupcake had a “hidden treasure” in the middle.  It was either an oreo cookie or Reeses.  They were yummy!

Here are some pictures of our little pirate.  Everyone had fun with our pirate party favors!

December Activities

December was full of activities for the kids!  The Friday after Thanksgiving my Mom, sister, the girls and I went on our annual Black Friday shopping trip.  This year we shopped at the new Outlets in Pearl.  It was a fun day!  The girls saw Santa first thing that morning!

As if SB hasn’t been busy enough already she had her school program at St. Francis.  The first and second graders performed The Christmas Story.  It was beautiful.  SB played the bells and did a fantastic job!
