Eagle Scout

Last Saturday morning we attended the Eagle Scout ceremony for Scott.  Eagle Scout is the highest rank you can earn in scouts.  We are so proud of Scott for this accomplishment!

Ms Children’s Museum

Today we took the kids to the Ms Children’s Museum for the first time.  It was so much fun!  They didn’t know what to play with…they just kept running from station to station especially Brandon!  Here are some pictures from our exciting day!

A Birthday & A Goodbye

Last Sunday we celebrated Uncle BB’s birthday.  We had his favorite meal, Lasagna and I made him a Snicker Ice Cream Sandwich cake!  Happy Birthday BBs!

On Monday we had a good bye lunch for my co-worker and friend Morgan.  She and her husband are moving back to Morgan’s hometown.  We are going to miss our Kindergarten friend but we are happy for them!  Good luck Morgan and Josh with your new adventures!

4th of July

We had a very low key 4th of July this year.  We were still recovering from our trip.  We did go to my aunt and uncles house to enjoy hamburgers and hotdogs.  We also had a “picture party” going through all of the photographs from my grandparents house!  Oh the laughs we had looking at old pics!  It was fun going down memory lane….miss them so much!

New Orleans–Day 3

On Sunday the guys (Syd, my Dad and Brad) went to the WW2 museum and the girls/kids went to the Insectarium.  This was our first visit to the Insectarium.  It was really cool.  I think this was SB’s favorite part of the trip.  (I think Andrew was still tired from the zoo!)

The museum had a Butterfly exhibit.  It was really awesome.  We stayed in there for a while looking at all of the beautiful butterflies.  They liked my white shirt because a few landed on me and hung out for a while!

After we finished up at the Insectarium we had lunch at the Hard Rock CafĂ©.  Then we walked along the River and met the guys at the Aquarium.

Sophie just woke up and she did not want her picture taken if you can’t tell!

When we got into the aquarium a diver was cleaning the coral.  The kids loved watching her swim around and of course they loved the fish!

For dinner we went to Mulate’s.  This is one of our favorite restaurants to visit in New Orleans.  It is very family friendly and it has a fun atmosphere.  The food is great as well!  New Olreans 2012 238

Mulate’s has a cajun band play every night of the week…so of course we had to dance!

We had so much fun!  Syd took the girls to the swimming pool at the hotel to end the night (as if they had not done enough that day!)

Monday morning we had breakfast at a place called “Mothers”.  They are known for their baked ham.  It was a great place to end our vacation.

After we ate we boarded the train and headed back to Vicksburg.  Sophie and Andrew slept most of the way so I didn’t take any pictures (plus I was just plain tired!)  We always enjoy New Orleans and this trip was no different!
